(NewsNation) — In his final bid for freedom, Sean “Diddy” Combs told a federal judge that he is “broken to his core” and will “never commit a crime again” if he’s granted release from prison.
Combs submitted a personal letter to Judge Arun Subramanian the night before he was due to be sentenced.
“I want to apologize and say how sincerely sorry I am for all of the hurt and pain that I have caused others by my conduct,” he wrote. “This has been the hardest 2 years of my life, and I have no one to blame for my current reality and situation but myself,” he wrote.
He was convicted in July on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution under the Mann Act. His attorneys have asked for a 14 month sentence while prosecutors say he should be behind bars for at least 11 years.
