The Trump administration has reversed $187 million in cuts to New York’s counterterrorism operations, Gov. Kathy Hochul said Friday.

The reversal comes after New York and other states sued the federal government , arguing the cuts would leave the city vulnerable to attacks.

Sources told NY1 that Hochul spoke with President Donald Trump earlier this week, urging him to restore the funding.

In a statement Friday, Hochul hailed the reversal as “a victory for public safety and for every New Yorker who depends on our brave law enforcement and first responders to keep our state secure.”
