Following a six-year tenure at the helm of The Pittsburgh Foundation, president and CEO Lisa Schroeder plans to retire from the philanthropic organization effective in March, per a release from the foundation.
The foundation board plans to start a national search in the coming weeks to seek a successor for Schroeder, who in February 2019 became the organization’s sixth president and the first woman to lead the foundation.
Since 1945, The Pittsburgh Foundation’s endowment funds — established by individuals, businesses and organizations and then managed by the foundation — have aimed to improve quality of life in the region via varied avenues. There are now about 2,500 funds within the foundation’s system.
