“I’m from Sudbury, a hometown kid, so it’s nice playing in my hometown,” Beites said, shortly after making 18 saves in a 5-1 win over the Iroquois Falls Storm on Thursday evening.

“Staying close to family is a huge thing for me, with my mom and my sisters, so I was really happy I was able to do that — that was probably the biggest reason.
