Already sitting atop the Ontario Hockey League in goals and second in points coming into Barrie on Thursday night, Jordan Charron had been outperforming even the most optimistic expectations to start the season.

The 18-year-old recorded a modest 10 goals in his rookie year, and just five games into the 2025-26 campaign, he was already halfway to that total.

But somehow, Charron found another level on Thursday, playing what he admitted was his best game in the OHL to lead the Soo Greyhounds to a 5-4 shootout victory over the Barrie Colts. He finished the game with two goals and a primary assist, establishing sole possession of the league goals and points lead.
