The cheapest supermarket of September has been revealed, with the winner beating its rival by just over £1.

Experts at Which? have analysed prices across all different supermarkets - from Tesco to Lidl - working out exactly which one you can do your weekly shop at for the best price.

The consumer champion revealed Aldi was yet again the King of the supermarket wars, pipping Lidl to the post by £1.18.

Aldi's list of 71 items in September came to £122.77 on average, whereas a full shop at Lidl totalled £123.95 on average.
