BEREA, Ohio — Baldwin Wallace University’s nationally acclaimed Music Theatre Program is clocking in this fall with the high-energy “9 to 5,” a musical based on the 1980 film of the same name, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick.

This production will mark the first that the new BW Music Theatre Director, Jennifer Hemphill, has directed for the University.

The original Broadway production received notable recognition, including a Grammy nomination for Best Musical Show Album, four Tony Award nominations, and a record-breaking 15 Drama Desk Award Nominations.

The musical highlights three women uniting against their sexist boss, celebrating friendship, empowerment, and equality in the workplace.
