Syracuse, N.Y. - Police have released the name of a motorcyclist who died earlier this week after crashing into a minivan in Syracuse.
The man is William Pierce, 49, of Syracuse, Syracuse police spokesperson Kieran Coffey said in a news release Friday.
Around 7:01 a.m. Monday, officers responded to the crash in the 200 block of Ainsley Drive, police said.
Both vehicles were driving east on Ainsley Drive when the motorcycle hit the left side of the minivan, police said.
Pierce was ejected from the motorcycle. He was transported to Upstate University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police have not released the name of the driver of the minivan.
