The leaves are changing and colorful yard signs are dotting the sides of roadways, which could only mean one thing.

In just a few short days, early vote centers will be buzzing with voters making their voice heard at the ballot box.

Although the ballot will be absent of presidential and statewide races, Ohio residents will have the opportunity to decide who represents them at the local level.

“During municipal elections, the turnout tends to be lower, even though it’s one of the most important elections, I believe, to any jurisdiction because that’s when you get to vote for your local candidates,” said LaVera Scott, the director of the Lucas County Board of Elections.

The deadline to register to vote in the November general election is Monday at 9 p.m.
