CLARKSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) - The government shutdown is impacting more than just federal workers.

DoDEA Fort Campbell High School is unable to play its game tonight or practice on the field due to the shutdown.

In a social media post on Sept. 29, the school sai d, “In the event of a lapse in appropriations after September 30, 2025, leading to a “government shutdown,” DoDEA schools will remain open for normal operations, except for sports (including practices) and extracurricular activities, which will pause during a shutdown."

Republican Senator Mitch McConnell has submitted a letter to the United States Secretary of War, Peter Hegseth, urging an exemption to allow the team to play.
