SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) -- An Upstate daycare employee is facing charges as a result of a child abuse case in Spartanburg.

Cedric Ann Henderson has been charged with three counts of cruelty to children following an investigation by the Spartanburg Police Department into a child abuse incident reported on August 15.

The investigation began after police responded to a report of child abuse at Circle K on East Main Street in Spartanburg. However, the alleged incident occurred at Maranatha Free Church of Jesus Christ on Ashley Street.

According to arrest warrants, Henderson inflicted or caused to be inflicted ill treatment and unnecessary pain and suffering on at least three minor children on August 13.
