CLAYTON — An uncooperative witness has led prosecutors to drop several charges against a man accused of participating in a botched robbery that left one of his accomplices dead.

Joshua Haegele, 23, instead pleaded guilty to one felony count that said he impeded the homicide investigation by hiding his accomplice's body, according to court records that became accessible Thursday.

A judge sentenced him to one year in prison.

Haegele was originally charged in October 2024 with second-degree murder, attempted robbery and two counts of armed criminal action.

A co-defendant, Vernon Williams, was also charged in the case.
