Officers are on scene at a local high school after receiving a report of a teenage boy who was armed with a knife.

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) was called to Catholic Central High School on the 400 block of 18 Street South at approximately 11:15 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 3.

The suspect was allegedly in the school’s cafeteria and was said to have been in possession of a knife.

He was seen leaving the school and walking northbound in the direction of St. Francis Junior High.

LPS says the person’s whereabouts are currently unknown, and police are attempting to locate him.

The suspect is described as an Indigenous teenage male and was seen wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants, and a black hat with longer hair sticking out.

Schools in the area are on lockdown as a precaution. The public is
