Air India will shift 60 of its daily domestic flights from Terminal 3 (T3) to the newly renovated Terminal 2 (T2) at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport starting October 26. This change is part of ongoing expansion work aimed at increasing international passenger capacity, which has reduced domestic operations at T3.
In addition, all domestic flights of Air India Express will move to Terminal 1 (T1). International flights for both Air India and Air India Express will continue to operate from T3.
To help passengers navigate these changes, Air India will renumber flights operating from T2 to a four-digit format starting with '1' (e.g., AI1XXX). Passengers can expect free shuttle services every 10 minutes between T1, T2, and T3, along with special buggy rides for those with reduced mobility.
Air India has assured that passengers with connecting flights will not have to worry about their baggage, as it will be transferred automatically between terminals. The airline will deploy additional ground staff to assist passengers during this transition.
Passengers are encouraged to check their terminal information before travel through the airline’s website or app and to ensure their contact details are updated in their bookings. This realignment is part of a broader effort by Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) to enhance the airport's capacity and facilities.
