Here’s a look at how Colorado members of Congress voted over the previous week.
There were no key votes in the House this week.
GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWNS: The Senate has rejected a cloture motion to end debate on the Eliminate Shutdowns Act (S. 2806), sponsored by Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis. The bill would have provided for funding ongoing federal government operations during periods when a lapse in appropriations from Congress (a shutdown) has occurred. Johnson said: “Imagine a world in which these ridiculous shutdowns are no more than a ridiculous relic of the past, where we are not wasting our time and effort and energy and angst over this partisan bickering.” A bill opponent, Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., said it would “hand over Congress’s power of the purse to Donald Trump and Russ Vought.”
