DIXON, Ill. — State Senator Li Arellano Jr. announced funding was secured for infrastructure projects across northern Illinois on Wednesday.
Arellano Jr. represents Illinois' 37th Legislative District, which includes all or parts of DeKalb, Lee, Ogle, and Whiteside counties. The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is awarding funds to support over a dozen major infrastructure projects in the district.
One of the largest projects being funded is Dixon's Project ROCK. Its goal is to build a new pedestrian bridge over the Rock River and to add over 2.5 miles of walking paths. IDOT is giving the City of Dixon more than $4.6 million for the project.
