A group of residents in the South End and Lower Roxbury plan to launch a political action committee next week focused on how candidates for Boston City Council feel about safety and health issues in the Mass and Cass area, according to a statement first shared with the Herald.

The group is expected to file with campaign finance regulators Monday, and distributed a questionnaire Friday to candidates for Boston City Council at-large and district seats that probed their stances on the “public safety crisis at Mass & Cass,” according to a copy shared with the Herald.

In a statement to the Herald, the Residents for a Safe and Healthy South End/Lower Roxbury said the organization is a “direct result of countless neighborhood conversations and efforts to address this ongoing crisis.”
