OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - Gov. Andy Beshear and the Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet are announcing that the Owensboro and Paducah Taxpayer Service Centers, operated by the Kentucky Department of Revenue (DOR), are remaining open despite recent federal closures of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) offices in the same communities.

The IRS announced that its Owensboro and Paducah offices will close effective Nov. 30, 2025, as part of a nationwide cost-cutting initiative following an executive order to reduce federal office space.

Federal officials have not indicated any plans to reopen these locations.

The DOR says its service centers in Owensboro and Paducah are not impacted and will continue to provide in-person assistance for state tax matters.
