Former University of Kentucky competitive cheerleader Laken Snelling might soon be facing more serious charges in the death of her baby.
Snelling, 21, was arrested on August 30 and charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and concealing the birth of an infant. The cheerleader allegedly gave birth before hiding the baby in a trash bag in the closet at her Lexington, Kentucky home on August 27.
During an appearance on Court TV on Thursday, October 2, attorney Michael J. Brown, who is not affiliated with the case, said murder charges could “absolutely” be coming down against Snelling soon.
“I think they’re simply waiting for the medical examiner’s report, the finality of that, to see if they can get her on a homicide,” Brown said. “They absolutely want to go forward
