NAGS HEAD, N.C. (WITN) - A man from Manteo caught and released a massive fish today during the Outer Banks Association of Realtors fishing tournament.

Tripp Phillips managed to capture a huge 49-inch red drum while fishing with his dad for Team Island Insurance at Jennette’s Pier this morning.

N.C. Aquariums say Phillips’ catch-and-release scored him 97 points, making it potentially the biggest fish capture of the competition.

The final results will be released later today as the event concludes.
