THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) – The City of Thomasville will join communities nationwide in celebrating ‘Public Power Week, Public Natural Gas Week, and Customer Service Week’ from October 5–11.

The week-long observance will highlight the value of locally owned utilities and recognize the dedicated employees who provide essential services every day.

Public Natural Gas Week is held annually to raise awareness about the benefits of publicly owned natural gas utilities, which serve about 1,000 communities across the U.S. Officials say public ownership helps provide residents with clean, affordable, and efficient energy.
