**Title: Ontario Mining Workers Celebrate $1 Million Lottery Win**
A group of 21 co-workers from Ontario's mining industry is celebrating a significant lottery win that has brought them closer together. After playing the lottery as a team for over 30 years, they finally hit the jackpot, winning $1 million.
Cory Goodfellow, a member of the group from Brighton, shared the moment he learned about their win. "I was at the grocery store when I discovered we’d won big," he said. Goodfellow and other group members visited the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to receive their prize.
"After checking our ticket, the winning sound went off, and I immediately texted the group chat to let them know we’d won big!" he recalled. Initially, Goodfellow thought it might be a mistake. "At first, I was shocked and in denial. Even two days later, I still didn’t believe it!" he laughed.
The group includes winners from various towns, such as Christopher Adam Manno, Christopher McBride, Richard Allan Goodfellow, and Shawn Stone, all from Brighton. Other winners hail from Yarker, Cobourg, Elliot Lake, and several other locations.
Goodfellow noted that not all winners were present in Toronto to claim the prize. However, he mentioned that each member has plans for their share of the winnings. Some intend to purchase new vehicles, while others plan to pay down their mortgages.
"Winning is such an exciting and overwhelming feeling," Goodfellow said. "I feel happy for myself, but even happier for all these people I work with. This win has brought us all closer."
The group’s long-standing tradition of playing the lottery together has now turned into a shared celebration, marking a memorable milestone in their lives and careers.
