In a win-or-go-home game for the Bombers, rookie Cam Schlittler turned in what’s already being hailed as one of the greatest postseason pitching performances in MLB history, silencing the rival Red Sox with eight scoreless, masterful innings.
Schlittler not only tallied a Yankee postseason debut record 12 strikeouts, but also became the first pitcher in playoff history to ever log 8+ innings with 0 earned runs, 12+ strikeouts, and no walks issued.
