AMERICAN FORK — American Fork High School was evacuated Friday due to a bomb threat, but police say they don't believe the threat was credible.

The school was evacuated around noon after a teacher found a note referencing a bomb, according to Alpine School District spokesman Rich Stowell. The teacher reported the threat to police and the school was closed for the remainder of the afternoon while police search the premises.

"There is currently no indication of any threat, and nothing suspicious has been found," the American Fork Police Department said on social media. "We do not believe there is any credibility behind the note. We are working on clearing more classrooms."

Parents of the students have been notified of the threat, Stowell said.
