SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) – A man accused of burning down a Summerville home on Thursday had been evicted from the residence several weeks prior, according to a police report.

Jason Lemar King was arrested and charged with two counts of arson, according to affidavits provided by the Summerville Police Department.

King allegedly told neighbors that he was setting fire to the home on Salterton St. One neighbor told police that King had broken into multiple homes in the neighborhood. When she saw the fire, she asked him what happened, an incident report explains.

He then told her that he had burned down the house using cooking oil.
