While Cornwall has long prided itself on being a hockey town, fielding national talent such as Lori Dupuis, there is another sport that is growing in popularity among men and women alike. Tackle football’s moment has arrived. Article content Article content
Since Kirby Camplin took over the Cornwall Wildcats 10 years ago, he’s helped put Cornwall on the football map.
Women are now about to take their place in the sun, led by École secondaire catholique La Citadelle principal and seasoned Wildcats coach Dan Legros.
“My job [as a principal] is to get these students ready for post-secondary, whatever that is,” said Legros. “Well, football is the same thing — I’m mentoring, and that’s what I like.”
