BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- When an Oildale man tried to intervene in an argument between his daughter and her boyfriend, the boyfriend pointed a folding knife at him and said, "Ill cut your throat. I'll cut your wife's throat."

Scottie Allan Chambers then stabbed a tire on the father's vehicle and threw a flashlight at him, prosecutors said in a news release.

On Thursday, Chambers, 40, was found guilty of felony criminal threats, simple assault and brandishing a weapon. He faces up to 11 years in prison at next month's sentencing hearing.

He has a prior strike offense, prosecutors said.
