ARVADA, Colo. (KDVR) -- First responders from across Colorado showed up at Station 53 in Arvada to line up for a procession for fallen firefighter Kevin Jacovetta.

"Kevin was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2023 then untimely passed away," said Arvada Fire Captain Travis Fox.

The fire captain told FOX31 he worked alongside Jacovetta for a few years, who always had a welcoming smile on his face.

"He was the light of the room and the laugh in the kitchen as well," Fox said.

According to Arvada Fire and Colorado Professional Firefighters, Jacovetta's death from an illness is considered a "Line of Duty Death."

"Its never a guarantee we wont get sick, we do the prevention piece as best we can but that’s a hidden danger we face," Fox said.
