BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Police arrested a Baton Rouge teen accused of shooting one person during a robbery Wednesday.

Officers were called to the 800 block of Staring Lane about a reported shooting. An affidavit stated officers learned that Jamal Mckenzie, 17, pushed a man off an electric scooter and tried to flee the area with it.

Shortly after, the victim confronted Mckenzie about the scooter, leading to a fight between the two. According to police documents, Mckenzie revealed a gun and fired up to nine shots, striking the victim in the head. Police noted that the injury was a graze.

Witnesses followed Mckenzie to Stoney Creek Avenue, off Staring Lane. Police said he had a gun with missing rounds when apprehended. His clothing fit the description given by witnesses, and t
