LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Louisville Metro Homeless Services Division has now re-branded as the Louisville Homeless Engagement and Assessment Response Team, or HEART for short.
Reaching out to the homeless is personal for HEART’s Executive Director Jon Pilbean.
“I do have some family that were homeless at one time, so that does trigger with me a little bit; some of our staff have been homeless,” Pilbean said.
The staff he’s referring to are nine members who make up the new Louisville HEART program.
“Our HEART team is made up of what used to be our homeless division,” Pilbean explained.
Six days a week, Pilbean and his staff canvas the streets and custom-tailor services to each person they might be able to help.
