In partnership with the National Fire Protection Association, the North Metro Fire Rescue District will host events and offer education regarding fire safety surrounding lithium-ion batteries for Fire Prevention Week, according to a news release from North Metro.

According to the National Fire Protection Association’s website, Fire Prevention Week is from Oct. 5 to 11 and this year will be focused on how to buy, charge and recycle lithium-ion batteries safely.

North Metro was slated to host two fire safety-themed open houses and cookouts from noon-2 p.m. Oct. 4 at Fire Station 61, 1275 W. Midway Blvd., Broomfield, and Oct. 11 at Fire Station 62, 10550 Huron St., Northglenn.
