FORT WORTH, Texas — Former NFL star Robert Griffin III and his family were involved in a "scary" crash in North Texas, he shared on social media Friday.

Griffin wrote on social media that he, his wife and children were involved in the "worst car accident of our lives" in Fort Worth.

"Scary crash, ricocheted off the highway divider multiple times, blown both front tires. Thankful to God that my wife and kids are safe," Griffin wrote.

TMZ reports Griffin was in town to cover the TCU-Colorado game for FOX Saturday.

Fort Worth police say they were called to a crash involving four vehicles near the 6400 block of South Freeway shortly before noon Oct. 3. Police sources told WFAA Griffin and his family were among those involved and are OK.
