LAFAYETTE, Ind.(WLFI) - Lafayette firefighters are preparing to educate kids in the community with a super unique tradition.
Many of these first responders are now becoming actors through the annual Lafayette Fire Prevention show.
Through a live band with fire-themed songs as well as a story to follow along with, kids will get to learn about the importance of fire safety.
This year's show theme is based on retention ponds and showing the dangers of getting caught in the weeds. The overall theme for fire prevention week is lithium-ion batteries and the dangers they present. The shows will cover both topics.
The shows are aimed at kindergarten through second graders. It's a time when learning about these things can be crucial.
