The Punjab government has proposed a special session of the Vidhan Sabha to be convened in Anandpur Sahib on November 24 as part of the series of events to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains Friday said.

If held, it will be for the first time that the session is organised outside the Vidhan Sabha complex in Chandigarh .

Anandpur Sahib was founded by Guru Tegh Bahadur in 1665. He had named it Chak Nanaki after his mother, Mata Nanaki. The government has zeroed in on Bhai Jaita Ji Memorial, to be thrown open to public on October 5 by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann , as the possible venue for holding the session.
