The UFL cut three teams from the league today and as promised by UFL owner Mike Repole, the three-time champion Birmingham Stallions were not on the list.

The three teams leaving are: • Michigan Panthers • San Antonio Brahmas • Memphis Showboats

UFL: Stallions fans save team

In August, Repole, the UFL’s newest owner, challenged Stallions fans to buy up to 5000 season tickets to save the team.

In less than a week fans bought half that amount before Repole declared on the McElroy and Cubelic Show:

“I’ll say it here, The Birmingham Stallions will be playing there next March. I’m going to be at the home opener.”
