A 38-year-old man has been charged in connection with a fatal collision that occurred on Whitemud Drive earlier this year.
On June 17, around 1:30 p.m., a van had stopped on the shoulder of Whitemud Drive eastbound near 111 Street. The 39-year-old driver exited the vehicle to inspect it when he was struck by an eastbound semi-truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. A 4-year-old girl inside the van was not physically injured but was taken to the Stollery Children’s Hospital as a precaution.
Following an investigation by the Edmonton Police, the semi-truck driver, Bhupinder Singh, 38, was charged on Oct. 1 with dangerous driving causing death.
