WILMINGTON, Delaware (WPVI) -- The du Pont family's former black powder industrial site is now a natural land full of mechanical marvels known as the Hagley Museum & Library.
Families can find much to do along the 235 acres flanking the Brandywine Creek.
The flagship museum is home to hundreds of patents that tell the story of American industrial evolution.
It also contains the DuPont Discovery Loft, where kids can conduct hands-on experiments. 'Science Saturday' activities run from March to December.
Beyond the museum, walkable trails give way to the ruins of black powder manufacturing tools such as a roll mill.
Further along the property, guests can tour the mansion and gardens where the du Pont family resided.
The Hagley Museum and Library is located at 200 Hagley Creek Road, Wi
