DALLAS — Drivers traveling to Dallas Love Field should prepare for temporary road closures as the city begins an eight-week roadway improvement project near the airport.

The Dallas Department of Transportation and Public Works (TPW) began work on major road repairs near Love Field on Monday and lane closures caused lines of traffic to stretch blocks near the entrance to the airport on Tuesday.

"I think it took me 15 minutes to go one mile to get through," said Bobby Miller, who traveled to the airport to pick up a family member. "It was pretty jammed up and backed up."

The eight-week effort will bring lane reductions and temporary closures along West Mockingbird Lane between Lemmon Avenue and Cedar Springs Road.
