Montgomery Academy coach Ethan McBride’s football team sets goals during the offseason, one football-related and another off the field.
Usually, it’s to earn all A’s or reach a certain GPA mark.
But, he remembers the goal that kicker Rob Ashworth brought to him that day.
Better my community.
“All right, that’s a big picture,” the coach said. “How do we go about this, right? What is that? Throughout the spring and all the winter, especially, he was really like sitting down and thinking about as a then-junior in high school, ‘What can I do?’”
He didn’t have to look much further than his family to spark an inspiring movement.
Ashworth is spending his senior season at Montgomery Academy honoring his grandmother, Deedee Jackson, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease about 8 years ago
