NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Large crowds are expected in downtown Norfolk Saturday with the 35th annual Children's Festival and the return of a Carnival cruise, but with the set-up process nearly completed, festival organizers say they are prepared.

“All day Wednesday was getting the groundwork laid with all of our tents," said Festevents Marketing Director Jordan Lett. "Yesterday was getting signs and stuff up, slowly getting stuff out into the park. Today is full go for set-up."

With current forecasts calling for nice weather, Saturday's festival is looking to be a good one.

“The weathers looking beautiful so we’re expecting a good crowd," Lett said, "[with] over 100 different activities, performances, and demonstrations.”
