SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - A University of South Dakota professor will keep his job at the school, after all.
The school announced on Friday that it is withdrawing its intent to terminate the contract of Art Professor Michael Hook.
The incident stems from a post Hook made on his private Facebook page on the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Hook filed a lawsuit against the school, claiming his First Amendment rights had been violated.
A judge had granted Hook a temporary restraining order to return to teaching while the case played out.
USD said Hook’s deletion of the post and issuing an apology were enough to stay at the school.
