The Owen Sound Wolves topped the Saugeen Royals 7-6 at OSDSS in a closely contested defensive battle marred by turnovers.
Wolves’ kicker Nick Pellerin nailed a go-ahead field goal with under three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. The kick was nearly blocked. In fact, a Royals rusher may have gotten their fingertip on the pigskin before it spun through the uprights.
In the first half, Pellerin missed two field goals. But, he got enough of the ball to punch it through the end zone, resulting in a pair of points for Owen Sound.
