(WKBN) - The working group put together by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine released a 20-point plan Tuesday on how to control property tax increases. For the average person, it was somewhat confusing.
Trumbull County State Representative Dave Thomas has been a leading voice in the Ohio Legislature to reduce and reform property taxes. Thomas said some of the committee's proposals were what the legislature already passed and what the governor vetoed.
"I think the biggest takeaway for homeowners is that the governor's actions just delayed relief, unfortunately," Thomas said.
Thomas said many of the group's recommendations focused on what's to come.
"Most of their proposals are future revenue limits, and there's no talk of actually decreasing taxes or tax bills now."
