Flint — Hundreds of faith-based leaders and attendees of congregations across Michigan flocked to a "tactical" briefing Friday in Flint to get tips on how to boost security at their own facilities after a mass shooting and fire at a Genesee County church on Sunday that left five dead.

The training was led by Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson but also included Attorney General Dana Nessel. Organizers said the goal of the 90-minute session was to provide practical tools, strategies, and guidance from law enforcement "to help community members protect themselves, their families, and one another."
