VIRGINIA BEACH — A Nicaragua citizen charged last weekend with killing a 20-year-old man outside a Virginia Beach nightclub has had a detainer placed on him by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to a jail spokeswoman.

Cesar Bermudez Evans, 21, is accused of fatally shooting Juelle Morton outside Central III Tapas and Lounge on North Great Neck Road. He was arrested Sunday and is being held without bond on charges of second-degree murder and using a firearm to commit a felony.

Police said video obtained from the nightclub shows Bermudez Evans got out of vehicle around 2:20 a.m., approached Morton with a gun, then shot him several times. Morton, a Newport News resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
