Italian lawmakers who were on board the international flotilla trying to break Israel's sea blockade of war-ravaged Gaza finally arrived in Rome Fiumicino airport on Friday afternoon.

They have spent weeks in navigation and a few days in Israeli custody.

The parliament members belong to the several Italian opposition parties, such as Democratic Party, the Five Stars Movement and Alliance Green and Left.

Benedetta Scuderi, European Parliament member for Alliance Green and Left, said while she's tired, her thoughts remain with Palestinians in Gaza.

"We constantly think about them," she added.

Marco Croatti, Italian senator for Five Stars Movement, said that the participants were loaded onto different vans and monitored.

The lawmakers didn't give further details about the interception by Israeli authorities, but said that they will hold a news conference on Saturday to provide information.
