CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Corvallis Fire Department is gearing up for its annual Open House, Safety & Resources Fair on Saturday, Oct. 4.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fire Station #1 on Northwest Harrison Boulevard. According to CFD officials, visitors can tour the facility and engage in firefighter activities. Interactive demonstrations on electrical safety and fire extinguisher training will be available. The theme for this year is “Take CHARGE of Fire Safety,” focusing on lithium battery safety. Attendees will learn to buy certified products, charge devices safely, and recycle batteries responsibly.

Fire Prevention Week runs from Oct. 5 to 11, commemorating the Peshtigo Fire of 1871. This devastating event remains the deadliest fire in U.S. history.
