Eastern Connecticut State University is offering a new course this fall amid Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated “Life of a Showgirl” album release.
Taught by department chair and History professor Caitlin Carenen, the course “The Power of Taylor Swift” opened with two sections at enrollment capacity.

The course focuses on Swift’s creativity, communication and involvement in women’s and LGBTQ+ movements.
Courses focused on celebrities have become a trend with some schools like New York University, Berkley and Texas State University offering similar classes.
