LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The mayors of Las Vegas and Phoenix have a friendly wager riding on the WNBA Finals.

Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego posted on the X social media platform: "Couldn't be more excited for the @WNBA Finals! @MayorOfLasVegas, how about a friendly bet? The losing mayor wears the winning team's jersey to a council meeting, and I'll even throw in treats from local women-owned businesses!"

Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley had a quick response: "Everyone in @CityOfLasVegas is beyond excited and ready for a great finals matchup! You are on for the friendly wager @MayorGallego! I think you will look spectacular in @LVAces gear at a future council meeting! Go Aces Go!🏀"

The seven-game series between the Las Vegas Aces and the Phoenix Mercury tipped off at 5 p.m at Michelob Ultra Arena
