A driver who crashed into the steps of Los Angeles’ City Hall and barricaded himself in the car has surrendered to police, according to broadcast reports.
Just before 6 p.m., the man got out of his car and walked with his hands behind his head, southbound down Broadway towards First Street, where police officers detained him without incident.
Hours earlier, at 4:08 p.m., the LA Police Department responded to a call about a traffic collision and found the car on the steps of City Hall near Broadway and south of First Street in downtown LA.
The man had two signs on the dashboard of the car that said, “Don’t want to hurt no body,” and “I need ur help D Trump U.S. Vet,” according to KTLA 5 .
The gray-haired man came out of the car wearing a Pink Floyd “The dark side of the moon” t-shirt.
